Featuring live Indian classical music—Bhakti Sangeet, Sufism, and Kabir Bhajans—the play uses love and devotion to frame her inner dialogue. A reflection on India’s rising sectarianism, Gaumukhi invites audiences to see through sacred, marginalized eyes in a search for truth, redemption, and the contradictions of society.

Intertwining anecdotes, skits and monologue, the play is a testament to the power of radical love, softness, humor and self-acceptance.
